Do you take insurance?
We currently accept private pay, Gardiner-Family Empowerment Scholarship, and United-Optum Health plans. We may be able to act as an out of network provider for some insurance companies . As of December 1st, we will begin accepting United insurance.
If speech therapy is covered by your insurance and we are not in network providers, we can supply you with a "superbill" that you can use to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement as an out of network provider. Please check with your insurance company to see if this is an option for you.

If you are planning on self pay and would like to know what your anticipated investment would be, please visit our Services page to see our current prices.

Will you provide therapy for my child in my home or at their school/daycare?
We are able to go in to homes, private schools and day cares. Please check with your school/daycare to inquire about their policies and procedures of allowing service providers on their campus.
How long does an evaluation take?
The time it takes to evaluate is dependent on your particular child. An average speech evaluation takes around 45 minutes to an hour. A language evaluation takes around 60-90 minutes. If we are doing both a speech and language evaluation, we can count on about 90 minutes. This is dependent on your child's needs and areas of involvement. We can structure our evaluation time to accommodate your child's tolerance levels
How do I know if I should be concerned about my child's speech or language development?
There are a few things you can do if you have concerns about your child's speech and language development. You can check with your pediatrician and see if your doctor feels that your child needs a referral for an evaluation. You can also read about developmental milestones and expectations on our resources page. Also, the American Speech-Language Hearing Association, First Words Project, and Autism Navigator have published a variety of information for parents. Lastly, you can come in to Speech Happy for a quick screening and we can consider if there is a need for a full evaluation.
What is "speech" and what is "language"?
Speech refers to the way that we say sounds and words. Language refers to the symbols that we use to communicate a message. Read more about it here.
What are your COVID protocols?
The clinician is fully vaccinated and will continue to remain updated on any booster vaccines. The clinician will wear a face covering during times of high transmission rates in the community, or any time you prefer a mask to be worn around you or your child. Please let the clinician know if your child is immunocompromised or at high risk so heightened precautions can be recognized. Hand sanitizer will be available for use throughout sessions as needed as well as a bathroom with a sink for hand washing. All surfaces are sanitized between sessions.
